The Scientist published a great article on the use of games and gaming technology in science. The article touches upon the use of games in the elucidation of protein structure, drug development, rehabilitation, and a whole lot more. Definitely worth a few minutes of your time.
You have to check out this video from the MIT Technology Review. Leap Motion is a $70 gesture control system that plugs into any computer and gives a gesture interface ala Minority Report. Pretty incredible stuff. Check out the video and then head over to The Verge web site for more information.
