I found a link to this video on Downloadsquad. The folks at MIT have “hacked” (not really because Microsoft left the Kinect open by design) a Kinect to be reminiscent of the interface seen in Minority Reports. The demo video also shows the incredible resolution of the Kinect–able to identify individual fingers on both hands. MIT has open-sourced the code for this demo–try it out (Linux Box needed).
Kinect, with the magicians from MIT, fulfils its Minority Report destiny:
