Video games often get a bad rap for causing violence in children, but at least one video game appears to help children manager their anger. The game is a modified version of Space Invaders with a bio-sensor that monitors the child’s heart rate. If the player’s heart rate increases (consistent with increasing agitation), the player loses the ability to shoot.

The subjects–patients in a child psychiatry unit–are usually resistant to anger-management techniques.  In contrast, they will spend hours mastering those same techniques in an attempt to beat the game.
