According to the Economist, the amount of global information increases 10-fold every five years. The business of information management / analytics is growing at an accelerating clip (10% annual growth with a market size of $100 billion). Indeed, the Economist predicts those that able to make sense of information–distilling data to knowledge– will have a distinct competitive advantage over their peers.
